- Drop your PDF here, or click to choose it.
- Fit under a file size is already selected, with the limit set to 300 KB. Change it if your form asks for something different.
- Click Compress PDF. The tool first tries to shrink the file without changing it; if that is not enough, it saves the pages as images at the best quality that fits.
- Download your PDF and open it once to check the text is clear before you upload it.
Frequently asked questions
Will a 300 KB PDF print well?
For documents, yes: at about 100 DPI, text prints clearly on A4 paper. For photos or fine drawings, choose a larger limit.
Can I combine several documents and stay under 300 KB?
Yes. Merge them into one file with Merge PDF, then compress the merged file here; the 300 KB is shared between all the pages.
Does it keep links and bookmarks?
Only when lossless optimisation is enough. When pages are saved as images, links, bookmarks and form fields are lost.
Is my PDF uploaded when I compress it to 300 KB?
No. Your PDF is compressed inside your browser and never sent anywhere, which matters for documents such as certificates and ID proofs.
What fits in a 300 KB PDF
300 KB gives scanned documents plenty of room. In our tests, three phone-scanned pages fitted at about 100 DPI, close to what an office scanner produces for documents. It is a common limit for multi-page certificates and application bundles.
As a rough guide from our tests with phone photos of documents, about 4 pages fit in 300 KB with normal text still readable, or about 1 page at a sharp, print-like quality. Clean scanner output fits more, and PDFs made from Word or Google Docs are often small enough already.
