Are my PDFs uploaded to merge them?
No. The files are combined inside your browser using the open-source pdf-lib library, so confidential contracts and statements never leave your computer.
Is there a limit on the number of files?
There is no fixed limit. Each file can be up to 200 MB; very large merges depend on your device's memory, so merge huge batches in a few steps if your browser slows down.
Will links, bookmarks and form fields be kept?
Page content, images and text are kept exactly. Document-level extras such as bookmarks (outlines) and interactive form fields may not carry over, because they belong to each original document rather than to its pages.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked with their password first, then saved without protection before they can be merged.
Combine PDF files without uploading them
Merging PDFs is one of the most common document chores — joining a cover letter and CV, bundling invoices for accounting, or combining signed pages into one agreement. This tool merges files entirely in your browser, so sensitive documents are never sent to a third-party server.
Tips for a clean merge
- Name files with numbers (01-intro.pdf, 02-report.pdf) and use Sort A → Z to order them instantly.
- Check the page count shown next to each file to confirm you added the right version.
- If the merged file is too big to email, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
What is preserved
Every page is copied exactly — text stays selectable, images keep their resolution and page sizes are unchanged. Document-level features such as bookmarks and fillable form fields are tied to their original files and may not be carried into the merged document.
