Frequently asked questions
What size should my PNG be?
An SVG can be drawn at any size without losing sharpness, so choose the size where the PNG will be shown. 2× the SVG's own size looks crisp on phones and Retina screens; for app icons or print, set an exact width such as 512 or 2048 pixels.
Why does my SVG say "no size set"?
Some SVGs have no width, height or viewBox, so browsers fall back to 300 × 150 pixels. The image still converts; choose Exact width to get the size you want.
Why are some fonts or images missing from the PNG?
For safety, browsers do not load outside files (web fonts, linked images, stylesheets) when an SVG is turned into an image. Convert text to outlines in your design app, or embed images as data URLs, before converting.
Is the transparent background kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so empty areas of the SVG stay transparent unless you untick Keep it transparent and choose a background colour.
Are my SVG files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser draws each SVG and encodes the PNG on your device, so logos and unreleased designs never leave your computer.
From vector to pixels
SVG files describe shapes with maths, so they stay sharp at any size. Many places still need a regular image, though: social media posts, slide decks, email signatures, app stores and older editors. This tool draws your SVG at the size you choose and saves it as a PNG, so you get a crisp result instead of an enlarged, blurry one.
Picking the right size
The size an SVG declares (its width, height or viewBox) is a starting point, not a limit. Use 1× for a pixel-for-pixel copy, 2× or 3× for high-density phone and laptop screens, or set an exact width when a platform asks for one, such as 512 pixels for an app icon. The height always follows the SVG's shape.
Transparency, fonts and linked files
Transparent areas stay transparent in the PNG, or you can fill them with a colour. Browsers draw SVGs as images in a safe mode that ignores scripts and outside files, so web fonts, linked pictures and external stylesheets won't appear; the tool warns you when a file links to any. Converting text to outlines before exporting avoids missing fonts.
Private by design
Everything happens in your browser. Your SVGs are read and converted on your device and never uploaded, which matters for client logos and designs that aren't public yet. You can also convert to JPG or WebP from the same page.
