Frequently asked questions
What is the passport photo size in India?
Indian passport photos are 35 × 45 mm (3.5 × 4.5 cm), the same size used in the UK, the Schengen area and Australia. The United States uses 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm), and Canada 50 × 70 mm.
How many passport photos fit on a 4×6 print?
Eight photos of 35 × 45 mm fit on a 4×6 inch print with thin gaps for cutting, and two US-size 2 × 2 inch photos. An A4 sheet holds 32 photos of 35 × 45 mm.
How do I print the sheet at the right size?
Print the 4×6 sheet as a standard photo print, or the A4 PDF at "Actual size" (100%), not "Fit to page". The files are made at 300 DPI, so every photo comes out at its real size.
Can this change my background to white?
No. Removing a background reliably needs an AI model, so take the picture in front of a plain white or light wall in even light. Most offices reject photos with shadows or edited backgrounds anyway.
Will my photo be accepted?
The tool gets the size and framing right, but acceptance also depends on lighting, expression, glasses and how recent the photo is. Check the rules of the office you are applying to before printing.

How to take a good passport photo at home
- Stand about half a metre in front of a plain white or off-white wall, facing a window for even light.
- Ask someone to take the photo from about a metre away at eye level; selfies distort the face.
- Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, mouth closed and both eyes open. Remove glasses if you can.
- Leave space around your head and shoulders, then zoom in the tool so your face fills the oval.
