Does this handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Conversions use the official IANA time zone database built into your browser, so daylight saving start and end dates are applied automatically for every region and year.
What happens to times that do not exist?
When clocks spring forward, times such as 02:30 are skipped in some zones. The converter moves to the next valid time and shows a note so your meeting invite is correct.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
For everyday use they show the same time. UTC is the precise scientific standard used by computers, while GMT is the time zone used in the UK in winter. The UK switches to BST (UTC+1) in summer.
Why do some zones have half-hour offsets?
Some regions chose offsets like UTC+05:30 (India), UTC+09:30 (central Australia) or UTC+05:45 (Nepal). The converter supports all of them.
