Frequently asked questions
Is the end date included?
By default no: from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. Tick "Include the end date" to count both days, which is common for hotel stays, leave requests and event durations.
How are months counted when days differ?
The calculator adds whole calendar months first — clamping to the end of shorter months, so 31 January plus one month is 28 or 29 February — then counts the remaining days.
Do business days include public holidays?
Business days count Monday to Friday only. Public holidays differ by country and region, so subtract any that fall in your date range.
Are leap years and time zones handled?
Yes. Leap days are counted correctly, and dates are compared as whole calendar days, so daylight saving changes never produce "23-hour days".

Business days count Monday to Friday. Public holidays are not removed automatically because they vary by country, state and industry — subtract any that fall in your range for an exact working-day count.
